Ten years ago, the convention business in San Diego was forever changed with the opening of the San Diego Convention Center. Meeting Services, Inc. has been proud to be the exclusive provider of in-house Audio Visual services since the beginning. The San Diego Convention Center has been named one of the top meeting facilities in the world.

In its ten year history, the San Diego Convention Center has racked up some impressive accomplishments for the San Diego region. Among them are the following:  

History has been made at the Center on countless occasions over the last decade. Every living president has visited the Center and the 1996 Republican National Convention projected San Diego on to the world stage. The Center has also been an important part of our civic life: countless car shows, boat shows and other important local traditions have been held at the facility.

The Center’s expansion will double the size of the facility when it is completed in September 2001. It will have an annual $1.5 billion economic impact and generate 6,000 additional jobs. To date, 86 conventions and trade shows representing a $1.7 billion economic impact and 2 million hotel rooms have been booked into the expansion.
