MSI Called To World Series
All-Century Team Presentation in Game 2

MLB Calls MSI to World Series

When Major League Baseball decided to honor the thirty greatest players of the twentieth century just before the first pitch of the second game of the 1999 World Series they called MSI first. Executive Producers Brian O'Gara and Reg Bronskill wanted to use large screen projection, a multi-level set and extensive use of follow spots to enhance the presentation and called Tom Bollard to head up the project.

After wading through a small mountain of logistical details it was decided that the new SACO Smart Vision 15mm LED screen would work for the project and Bollard contracted with XL Video in Atlanta to provide the equipment and engineers. The presentation took place just in front of second base before a live audience of over 65,000 with over 50 million watching on TV. The 10 foot by 12 foot video screen was the center piece of a complex series of platforms, ramps and wagons that all had to be removed from the field in three minutes.

Bollard flew to NYC to oversee all technical aspects of the event including the video wall, the set, field level and TV audio, lighting, electrical and the use of six 3k Gladiator follow spots.
